The oldest Sanskrit grammar writen by an european
I just learned about it from "The Sanskrit Grammar and Manuscripts of Father Heinrich Roth S.J. 1620-1668: Facsimile Edition of Biblioteca Nazionale Rome Mss or 171 and 172". This grammar was never printed, the first page of the manuscript can be seen bellow.
The above mentioned book also contains two manuscripts, one of Sadānada's Vedāntasāra and one of Veṇīdatta's Pañcatattvaprakāśa along with Father Roth's commentary.

Scholastic Sanskrit
As a beginner trying to find my way in a commentary, I often got discouraged by the technical language used and soon I had to drop it. Now, thanks to my friend Péter who pointed it to me, I am in possession of a great book, "Scholastic Sanskrit" by Gary A. Tubb & Emery R. Boose.
This Book helps you to understand and use the five services provided by commentaries:

Tāntrikābhidhānakośa
Or what contains my wish list.
It seems that I must spend a huge amount of money to get this dictionary planed for five volumes. I hope Somadeva will keep the references page available as long as he can. In the mean time I will save on my computer. For the moment these two volume can be bought from here and here.
